2kg beef cheeks
6 cloves garlic
2 large onions
3 large carrots
1 large sweet potato
2 cups of Pepperjack Shiraz 2012
2 cups beef stock

  1. Brown off beef cheeks on med-high heat 4-5mins. Remove from pot. 
  2. In the same pot, fry off onion, garlic, carrot, sweet potato until brown (approx 4-5mins).
  3. Once your vegetables have browned, place the beef cheeks back into the pot. 
  4. Fill with Pepperjack Shiraz and beef stock, half covering your beef cheeks. This step is key for making a really great sauce. Cover with lid.
  5. Place your pot in the oven at 120 degrees celsius (approx 2 hours), or until your beef cheeks are ready to pull apart. Remember, the slower you cook your beef, the better the end result.

Beef Cheeks are perfect alternative for a Sunday roast. This recipe is best paired with a glass of Pepperjack Shiraz 2012.
