After a tough 8 week head-to-head battle, Australia has narrowed down the 2015 #BattleOfTheSteaks race down to just five venues. The heat has officially been turned up in the kitchen. It’s time to meat your finalists...

Club Hotel Chinchilla, QLD
Located in Chinchilla Queensland is the award-winning Club Hotel. The Club Hotel has undergone a major transformation to modernise their classic grand old Queensland building into a town icon. This contender are known for their quality and range of steaks, dedicated to fresh, flavoursome produce for their customers. Head Chef Sam Lee will be representing them at the final in Barossa, who has been responsible for transforming their menu over the past 4 and ½ years to include a diverse selection of hotel classics and modern Australian influences. “We can’t wait to do our town proud at the final by presenting a dish that compliments quality beef with a quality wine brand,” explains Owner Justin Byrne.

William Farrer Hotel, NSW 
Rich in family history, the William Farrer Hotel has been in the Barnhill family for over 15 years. Named after William Farrer aka  the ‘Father of the Australian wheat industry’ who was once the face of the now defunct Australian $2 note, The William Farrer Hotel boasts a great bistro menu including prime cuts of lamb and Angus beef, as well as an extensive house made selection of canapés. Customers visit this contender specifically for their 100 day aged and grain fed premium scotch fillet steak. Represented by Head Chef, Craig Wilson, they’re excited to show off their skills and premium product at the final. According to spokesperson Cath McDonnell, we should expect to see “Australia’s finest steak cooked to perfection with a little something extra…”

Club Kilsyth, VIC
Situated at the base of the Dandenong Ranges in Melbourne, Club Kilsyth serves over 2,500 meals a week. This contender are a local landmark for fantastic entertainment, quality dining, and friendly, personal service, priding themselves on their bloody-good steak. Executive Head Chef, Nathan West (who is so dedicated to the Club he abandoned his dream to become a male model to follow his true passion to be a chef)

can’t wait to get down to business. “We’re proud to see Club Kilsyth so successful at the state level in the competition this year. It reaffirms the knowledge that we have great steaks and passionate Chefs who consistently prepare the best cuts,” West explains. West declines to reveal what Club Kilsyth will serve at the final but we know he likes to push the boundaries with classic ingredient combinations, presentation, and techniques. “Be prepared for the ‘OMG’ moment when sampling our Battle of the Steaks Final offering.”

The Grosvenor Hotel, WA
The Grosvenor Hotel is an iconic Heritage pub restored and refurbished in the Perth Mint precinct. Originally built in 1886, this contender is one of the oldest operating pubs in Perth today. Building on Richard Moody’s 30 plus years’ of hospitality experience, the hotel prides themselves on their varied ‘Gastro Pub’ menu, with a specific focus on their meat dishes. They’re confident their team’s consistent hard work and attainment of high standards will pay off in the Battle of the Steaks 2015 final. Represented by Executive Chef Shane Atkins, we’ve been told to “expect a classic Fillet Mignon prepared with a typical Grosvenor twist.”

Enzo’s Ristorante, SA 
Inspired by the fresh home grown produce of southern Italy, and the alternative traditional cooking styles in northern Italy, Enzo’s Ristorante boasts the best of Italian cuisine. Operating for 16 years, this contender knows exactly how to char grilled meat. They are also known for their char grilled seafood and of course, their pasta. “It is such an honour to have won the state title,” explains Function Coordinator, Helen Morgillo. “This is a great reward for the kitchen and restaurant. We have put a lot of effort and consistency in producing a high quality dish [for the final].” Executive Chef Albert D'Antonio and Sam Beltrame will be representing Enzo’s Ristorante at the final.
